Oriëntatieloop Domein Hofstade
Voor deze cache moet je niet in het meer van het domein zijn, maar er rond! Doorheen het domein verspreid staan zogenoemde oriëntatiepaaltjes. De hele tocht, van paaldje tot paaldje en tot de fysieke cacheplaats, is ongeveer 8km lang en duurt te voet dus iets meer dan een uur.

Hoe te vinden?
Om de 'Final Location' van deze letterbox multi te vinden moet je eerst 12 oriëntatiepaaltjes vinden. Om zou trouw mogelijk te blijvenaan het concept van een echte oriëntatieloop is de locatie van die paaltjes niet te vinden onder waypoints, maar op een kaart. Die kaart vind je als foto's 'kaart_1' en 'kaart_2' of als pdf om af te printen en mee te nemen via tinyurl.com/kfnu5nz9. Gebruik voor de verandering eens geen GPS en navigeer als een scout met kompas en kaart!
Elke oriëntatiepaal heeft een identificatienummer (tussen de 50 en 65). Met dat nummer komt één van de letters op de kaart overeen, zie onderstaande tabel. Hierdoor kun je controleren of je bij de juiste paal staat.

Nu je bij de juiste paal staat moet je een cijfer vinden om later in de formule voor de finale locatie te gebruiken. Dit doe je door het patroon van de paal op te nemen. Steek een stuk papier in de gleuf van de paal en druk op de gele of rode knop (zie de foto 'gleuf'). Dat patroon moet je nu vergelijken met de foto 'patronen' om een cijfer te bekomen.
Formule
Nu je langs alle 12 oriëntatiepaaltjes bent geweest kun je de letters A tot L in onderstaande formule vervangen door hun juiste cijfer.

Omdat dit een letterbox cache is, zit er een speciale stempel (maar geen kussen, wat anders uitdroogt) in de finale container.

Orienteeringrun 'Domein Hofstade'
No need to dive into the lake in the Sport Vlaanderen Domein to find this cache. Instead it suffices to hike along a number of orienteering checkpoints throughout the domain. The whole hike is about 8km long on foot and thus takes a little more than an hour's time.

How to find the cache?
To find the ‘Final Location’ of this letterbox multi cache you have to first find 12 orienteering checkpoints. To stay true to the sport of orienteering, the location of those checkpoints isn't noted under 'waypoints' but rather on a map. That map can be found as the photos 'kaart_1' and 'kaart_2'. Alternatively you can download and/or print a pdf via tinyurl.com/kuzvjfxn. Don't use your GPS device for a change, and navigate using only the map and a compass!
Each orienteering checkpoint has an identification number (between 50 and 65). This number corresponds to one of the letters which you can find on the map, as indicated below. This way you can verify that you actually found the right checkpoint when you are hiking along the 12 checkpoints.

Each orienteering checkpoint is a pole which contains a punching device that creates a pattern in a piece of paper which you can insert into the pole (press the yellow or red plastic levers to punch your paper). See also the photo 'gleuf'. The punched patterns correspond to numbers which you’ll need to solve the formula for the coordinates of the ‘Final Location’.
