Svoje djelovanje je započela 1964. godine. Na ovoj lokaciji postoji od 1977. kad se spojila s tadašnjom VII. gimnazijom i XIV. gimnazijom ("25. maj"). Novonastala zajednica dobiva ime "Matematičko informatički obrazovni centar" ili MIOC. Godine 1982. MIOC postaje "MIOC Vladimir Popović". Početkom devedesetih godina XX. stoljeća školi se vraća staro ime: "XV. gimnazija".

The school was founded in 1964. At this location it has existed since 1977 when it was merged with VII. Gymnasium and XIV. Gymnasium and gets the name "Mathematical Informatics Education Center" or MIOC. In 1982 MIOC became "MIOC Vladimir Popović". At the beginning of the nineties in the 20th century, the school returned its old name: "XV. Gymnasium".
