On Saturday, June 15th, 2013, current Fire Chief closed fire station #4, against the wishes of local residents. The residents were concerned that it would effect the response time for emergencies, but the Chief assured that it would not and actually be a positive move. The closing of this station saved the $200,000. Since the closure, the station has been sitting abandoned.
