Geocache Description:

You know when you have passed by a place before and just can't remember when.

Will, for the amount of time that I have spent in this area of Ontario, going back to what I believe to be 1996 when I first started camping nearby. I have through the build up of friends, (family as I call a lot of them now), and of course I really can't forget about geocaching (my geocaching family). With those two in mind I have wondered far and wide in this area and many, many gravels roads have been traveled, trails found and walked on, looking at sites of scenery and of course places to go.

Oh, before I forget. Not too long a time ago I was out with my fiancée travelling down along some of these roads throughout the area (she wanted some daffodils). As we had headed along this road I had this crazy thought that I had been along here before, but there was something new here that I hadn't seen before, well it, itself is not really new, but old.

Founded in 1832 by two Irish Canadian immigrants named Samuel and John Holmes, the community was first called Holmes Hill and Holmes Villa before receiving its current name of Holmesville in 1855. At present it has a population of approximately 910 people. Over the years there have been many people living in this area and have had a hand in shaping this little town into what it is today. This location is just one of those spots to show you some of the people of the past.
