Geocache Description:

She wasn't. This road commemorates the two one-room school houses that once served the communities east of here along this road.

The Baupaume School was built in 1919 and was so isolated and hard to heat that classes were only held from March to November each year but the history book says they still got their required number of days in. The school closed in 1947. The Iola School was built in 1913 and was also used for church services and Sunday school. It closed in 1941. Students from the Baupaume and Iola districts then attended Swanson School.
