Geocache Description:

This cache is a WhereIGo cartridge which takes you through an invisible maze on two of the soccer and slo-pitch fields of McLeod Athletic Park (MAP) in Langley B.C.

IMPORTANT : When doing this cartridge - keep a visual record of your progress or you will become VERY frustrated!

The cache has been revised slightly due to muggles finding the container a few times.
Please ensure you have downloaded the CURRENT cartridge.
The WhereIgo cartridge can be downloaded at: MAP MAZE

How to play:

Park at the above coordinates. These are at the parking lot off 216th St.

Turn on your Wherigo-enabled device and open the cartridge.

Proceed to the Starting Point which is near the washrooms. The maze should take you approximately an hour and it is entirely on grass fields that are maintained by the Township of Langley.

The drainage in the winter is outstanding after the upgrades of a few years ago so the cache will be available in any weather BUT NOT when in use for the sports for which the park was designed.

Upon arriving at the maze Entrance, and all subsequent zones or pods within the maze, an image of your location within the maze will be displayed on the screen. The number within the circular area is your current location and the other numbers are the zones you can navigate to from that location.

HINT: Keeping the North arrow on the device pointing towards the Children's Play area will assist in keeping you oriented.

At times the map does not refresh to show the new pods that are available to visit from your current location. To fix this simply toggle back and forth to View or Inventory.

As you enter each pod a message will appear to let you know if you have visited this pod previously.

If you reach a dead end, you will see that your location is inside a circle and that you can only navigate to the zone from which you just came.

When you reach the maze exit, you will be given the coordinates of the cache, which will also be saved in your Inventory as will your Completion Code.

During the course of constructing this cache I had a fellow cacher help "test fly" the concept and we quickly found that keeping some sort of "map" or drawing of our progress was imperative. I don't think it should be attempted without one.

NOTE: The device used to do the cartridge should be fully charged at the start as there is a fair amount of internal calculations required to complete the maze.

During the creation of this cache I received invaluable advice and coding help from Tracy of MossTroopers who have a maze cache in Victoria GC1MTY6. I made a trip to Victoria to do this cache thoroughly enjoyed completing their cartridge.
