Geocache Description:

Emerald Vista offers a spectacular view of Talimena Scenic Drive, the Poteau River Valley, Cedar Lake, and Lake Wister, a corps of Engineers impoundment of the Poteau and Fourche Maline rivers. The town of Heavener can be seen in the distance.

This vista area offers more than just a view. There is also opportunity for camping, a picnic, nearby hiking trail and bathrooms. We stopped here to eat lunch on our way south; checked the Geocaching app and no hides here!? Fortunately we had some supplies to create one and excited to add one to the Talimena Drive. Is a short walk from parking just off of a trail will be small pill bottle with log only so BYOP. Not flip-flop friendly and beware of bugs, snakes and critters!
