Geocache Description:

Small camouflaged container, will need stealth as this area can become muggle centric at peak walking times, contains a log and pencil, also a new trackable when placed for the FTF to move on.  BYOP just in case the pencil goes walkabouts or breaks!

Alsop en le Dale railway station was opened in 1899 by the LNWR (London North Western Railway) near the villages of Alsop en Le Dale and Alstonfield as a branch line from the High Peak Railway. Two years after the line opened, a train of six-wheeled carriages became derailed by snow and was marooned for three days, during which time the crew were given hot food and drinks by local farmers. Regular passenger services ended in 1954, though excursions continued until 1963. Freight continued until October of that year, the track to Ashbourne finally being lifted in 1964.
