CACHE: Park and grab.
HISTORY: This schoolhouse was named for the family of early settler Christopher Spangler. It was established prior to 1862 and one of the longest running one room schools in Lapeer County. It closed in the late 1950's or early 1960's when the state shifted education from country schools to the more modern multi-grade and multi-room structures in town. Students who attended Spangler mostly went to Almont Schools, where a few may have been closer to Dryden. Today the school is a residence. Photos of the school attached.
