Geocache Description:

About WWFM

WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world.
Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time.

Sonny and Sandy came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.

Check out the History of the Geocaching WWFM events.

Lets get together and "Splash in the Barren Fork River, talk Geocaching and move along any TB's that show up. This is a paddle or float trip however you decide to get there. We will gather together @ 11:45 am(CST) and prepare for the photo to be taken @ 12:00 am or noon(CST) official WWFM Event time. Maybe Splashing in the water if everybody is good with that. Following the photo opp. we will have a drawing for a couple of door prizes. Official ending time is 12:15 pm (CST). But feel free to hang out and talk some more about caching or we can keep talking caching as we meander down river. This event is designed for the whole family and cachers of all ages. I have posted coords for a Launch Site at Pepper Branch Park, from this location it will take you 30 minutes to reach GZ. The Posted coords are for the Event. I have also posted coords for a take out location at Rocket Park, it will take another 30 minutes to reach this location. I have also posted coords for a TWRA boat ramp located several miles down river at the VFW, they do charge a parking fee and that is entirely up to you if you want to make a day of the river. Please post in your log which trip you are interested in doing, short or long trip. It is approximately 7 miles from Pepper Branch Park to the VFW.  If anyone has something for a door prize, feel free to let me know or just bring it with you. Please bring your own water to stay hydrated and if you want snacks also bring those. Please remember that you must have your own life jacket in the boat with you and your children 12 years and younger must wear their life jackets. Be sure to post your Will attend if coming so any announcements can be made thru the Event page. There is also a local outfitter if you need them. Be sure to allow amble time for making it to GZ! ALSO NOTE: There will NOT be an official Geocaching.com Souvenir this year in 2017.
