This year the 48 North Chapter, invites you to the 2017 WSGA Summer Campout at Howard Miller Steelhead Park.. Howard Miller was born in Skagit County, and in his adult years, served as a Skagit County Commissioner for 16 years. In 1966, Howard Miller was responsible for the first purchase of land (15 acres) that included 39 campsites; complete with electrical hook ups for RV’s, tent sites, a picnic shelter, and a restroom. On December 2,1982 the park officially dedicated Howard Miller Steelhead Park. [HMSP]. The land was obtained from Burlington Northern Railroad, Seattle City Light, and private sources. Eighty-eight more acres was added to HMSP in 1989. This land was purchased from Summit Timber Co.
Activities: Activities include fishing, river rafting, biking, hiking, history, wildlife viewing and more.
Who can attend? The Campout is open to everyone, members and non-members alike. Come for a day, or spend the weekend.
Sunday dinner: Join us for the Sunday evening barbecue dinner and potluck. This is the main event, covered by your registration fee. WSGA will provide the hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and beverages. The rest is potluck, so bring your favorite side dish or dessert to round out the meal. After dinner, we’ll have the annual WSGA general meeting. The WSGA President will give their “State of the Club” address for our members and lead a Q&A session.
Camping: We have reserved RV sites with electricity and water as well as tent sites. Campsites and RV sites are reserved for Sunday and Monday nights only. If you are camping with us, you must select one of the camping options, as well as the per-person registration fee for all members 10 and over. Check-in starts at 2:00pm Sunday and Check-out is 1:00pm Tuesday. All sites will be assigned before/at the campout. Due the limited number of RV sites they are first come, first served.
Day visitors: If you plan to join us for the Sunday activities (including dinner), you will need to register and pay for each person attending.

Registration Fee:Covers the Sunday dinner and Campout goody bag (with campout souvenir ). The fee is waived for children aged 10 and under (special goody bags).
Registration Deadline: The deadline to Register is July 7, 2017. You can still join us on Sunday and pay on-site ($10/person) for the dinner and goody bag (supplies limited).
