New Dunbow School Site - YYCCAR17 Traditional Cache

This cache is located at the site of a former one room School.  There were two such rural school property allocations in each six square mile township, and most of them were built on in populated areas. When this school was shut down, the building was moved to Mossleigh and added to the school there.  The history of this school is not readily available on the web, but will be added to this cache page as it becomes available.  

This is not to be confused with the Dunbow Industrial School or St. Joseph’s Industrial School, which was the first residential industrial school in Western Canada and was a prototype for the later Indian residential schools. It was about 6 miles Northwest of here and has a more documented history.

Those who have found caches at similar locations will have no problem finding this one.
