Well, maybe the title should have been something more like, "Cache at an intersection that my TomTom automotive GPS claims was Vade", but that seems rather long and drawn out and doesn't include a pun.
Vade was once a hamlet, and is now an "unincorporated area". Very likely, the community was located north of this intersection just beyond the row of trees that would have acted as a wind break. The road heading that way is not in the greatest shape and probably handles industrial traffic from the nearby potash mine.
