During the 2016/2017 scouting year youth all over the world celebrated the 100th anniversary of the cub scout program. On May 13, 2017, as part of the annual Jamboree On The Trail, scouts and cubs from the 1st Aylmer Scout Group hiked the Wolf Trail and hid 10 caches celebrating the milestone.
Early in the development of the Scouting movement, there was a need for provision for those too young to join the Boy Scouts at the age of 11. Robert Baden-Powell published a first draft of a scheme for "Junior Scouts" in 1913, followed by a more detailed outline for "Wolf Cubs or Young Scouts" in January 1914. The finalized program for 8- to 10-year-old boys was launched at a special conference on 24 June 1916, by which time it had been themed around the Jungle Book written by Baden-Powell's friend and neighbour, Rudyard Kipling; the boys representing the cubs in the Mowgli stories and the leaders being known by the names of the major characters. Each meeting was to start and finish with the "Grand Howl", a ceremony in which the Cubs greeted Akela, the Pack's leader. Baden-Powell also wrote The Wolf Cub's Handbook which was published in December of the same year.
In the cub scout program each scouter has a Jungle Name. There are nine available names. To find this cache you have to follow the path of the wolf (Trail 62, Wolf Trail) and visit all nine scouters, i.e. find their respective caches. Each scouter will give you a number from 1 to 9 which you need to use below to calculate the final coordinates for this cache. And remember: Do your best!

The terrain and difficulty rating as well as some of the attributes relate to finding all ten caches in the series. We recommend hiking the trail in counter-clockwise direction this way you will go up the steep section towards the beginning of your hike. It took us just over 4h to hike the trail with at multiple 8 year-olds, hiding geocaches along the way. Normally you should be able to hike the trail in about 3h.
