Geocaching is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Fundy National Park. We are combining this milestone with the Canada confederation celebrations by featuring a special Canada 150 trackable coin.
As you search for the caches you will explore many of the areas that make Fundy so special today.
To discover what the area that is now Fundy was like 150 years ago, check for the cache card in each box.
Foster Brook Trail, accessible just off the Point Wolfe Road, will lead you on a beautiful forest walk to the Point Wolfe River and beyond.
At the time of confederation this river was home to large, healthy populations of shad, and salmon which used its upper reaches as spawning grounds each year.
Unfortunately these migratory fish were especially vulnerable to the dams and debris associated with the logging industry.
Recovery efforts are a top priority for Fundy National Park.

La géocachette fête son 10e anniversaire au parc national Fundy. Nous combinons ce jalon aux célébrations du 150e anniversaire de la Confédération en lançant une pièce localisable exclusive.
Dans vos recherches des caches, vous explorerez de nombreux secteurs qui font de Fundy un endroit si spécial de nos jours.
Pour savoir ce que le Fundy d’aujourd’hui était il y a 150 ans, voyez les cartes de cache dans chaque boîte.
Le sentier Foster Brook, sur le chemin Point Wolfe, vous propose une belle marche en forêt jusqu’à la rivière Point Wolfe et au-delà.
Au temps de la Confédération, cette rivière était l’habitat de grandes populations saines d’aloses et de saumons qui venaient y frayer chaque année dans les cours supérieurs.
Malheureusement, ces poissons migrateurs étaient très vulnérables aux barrages et aux débris de l’industrie forestière.
Les efforts de rétablissement sont une priorité du parc national Fundy.
