Geocache Description:

This cache is a redundant red phone box, now the village library.

Many redundant phone boxes have been bought by Parish Councils and converted to small “business units” that serve the local community. The most common are Book Swap Shops, and this is one, outside the Post Office at Woodfalls.


Thanks to Redlynch Parish Council, the old phone box has been spruced up and turned into a Book Exchange. Your mission, as a Geocacher, is to find and sign the logbook. There is no separate box for swaps; the whole Phone Box is a treasure trove of books looking for new homes. You can bring your redundant books, but please take at least one book away with you. We have too many!


The logbook is in a black tub above the door spring. You may not see it, but your fingertips will find it. See Spoiler. Please put in back afterwards.


Please ensure the phone box is left in good order. If you notice any damage or have any concerns, please include that in your log or message the CO. Thank You, and Happy Reading!


The Attributes for this cache correctly state “food nearby”. The Old Inn, opposite the cache is now a private house, but your needs can obviously be met without crossing the road, as the Post Office is also the local General Store. It has an excellent selection of local produce, including freshly made filled rolls and sandwiches, fruit, and hot drinks to satisfy any Geocacher about to set off on a tour of all the amazing caches in the New Forest National Park.
