This series is placed along the McMiller Ski Trails within the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine Forest. Please follow all posted rules & regulations including NO HIKING in winter when the trails are groomed for XC skiing. Also on the property is a shooting range which you will likely hear if you're there during range hours.
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies seem to divide people. You are either for them, and think they are fantastic, or you think they don't rate as a real cookie; I mean, raisins? I can appreciate an oatmeal raisin cookie, but anytime I am the baker, you will find me also putting chocolate chips in them. I find it disappointing when all those brown chunks are raisins without a trace of chocolate. You are looking for a camo thermos container off the orange loop.
These trails are minimally maintained in the summer months which means grass on the trail may not be mowed. Here is a map I created based on my GPS tracks and the McMiller ski trail map. Note there are three potential parking areas. Daily or annual parking pass is required for a fee. Refer to the geocache Chocolate Chip Cookie for these parking waypoints. If accessing from Forest Headquarters, follow the Ice Age Shelter 2 sign and continue hiking past the shelter until you are within a few hundred feet of Pecan Finger Cookie. At that point, look for a footpath on your left (pink on map) to get onto the McMiller Trail system.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Amanda Kutka/Anne Korman of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
