Il paese si articola in due parti differenziate fra di loro: la prima, più antica, si trova in collina, nota come Tortoreto Alto ed è situata fra i 225 e 240 m sul livello del mare. A sua volta Tortoreto Alto è costituito dall'antico borgo medievale e dai due rioni tradizionali di Terravecchia e Terranova.
Piazza Campo della Fiera è uno dei punti più suggestivi del paese alto. La piazza, nella parte antica del comune teramano, è inglobata tra le mura e l’ex ponte levatoio della parte più antica e fortificata edificata sull’antico Castrum Salini, con la bellissima vista sulla Torre dell’Orologio, prima torre tra le principali del Castello, e dall’altra la vista mozzafiato su tutta la pianura ed il litorale tra i fiumi Vibrata e Salino, con le colline delle due vallate che scendono al mare ed il bellissimo contrasto tra il verde ed il blu dell’adriatico.
La piazza, considerando le caratteristiche rue strette della cittadina, è uno dei punti principali della vita sociale di Tortoreto, sede di moltissimi appuntamenti di intrattenimento sia in estate che in inverno.

The village is divided into two distinct parts: the first, the oldest, is located on a hill, known as Tortoreto Alto and is situated between 225 and 240 m above sea level. Tortoreto Alto also consists of the ancient medieval village and the two traditional districts of Terravecchia and Terranova.
Piazza Campo della Fiera is one of the most fascinating locations. The square, in the ancient part, is embedded between the walls and the former drawbridge of the oldest and fortified part built on the ancient Castrum Salini, with a beautiful view of the Clock Tower, the first tower among the main Castle. Moreover, the breathtaking view across the plain and the coast between the Vibrata and Salino rivers, with the hills of the two valleys descending to the sea and the beautiful contrast between the green and the blue of the Adriatic.
The square, considering the narrow streets of the town, is one of the main points of Tortoreto's social life, home to many entertainment events both in summer and winter.
