Karolinen was build in the 1970's and was designed by architect Gösta Edberg.
Up until 2004/2005 a number of defence-related authorities, government agencies and institutions were located here.
Nowadays the building is mainly used to house offices for companies and conferences.
Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency) and the blood donation centre Claratappen are also located in the building.
You can even find a restaurant, a café, a hairdresser, a fitness and a lot more in the building.
With about 1500 people working here, you can almost call it a small village.
Karolinen might not be the sexiest building in town, it sure is one of the biggest.
It covers about 60 000 square meters, has around 1500 rooms and has a corridor length of 16 kilometres!
After we moved from Belgium to Sweden in December 2014, we started our own café here in March 2015.
So the building has had a fairly big impact on our own lives and it is therefore that we choose this location for our own very first cache hide.
