This Cache is placed as part of the 2017 New York State Park Central Region Geocache Challenge. There are 67 geocaches hidden within 20 state parks and historic sites in this parks region, the first 100 people to find 40 or more caches will receive a special geocache challenge coin. This cache is placed along the Old Erie Canal Park. To get here, park as suggested, and walk past the . the outdoor exhibits toward the canal trail. There is a real canal boat that is cut open for easy viewing, a pitch bot where resin from trees was boiled and used to coat the bottom or the boats, and many more displays, plus the museum and visitors’ center. For this cache, park across the street, off Lakeport Rd, just opposite Towpath Road.
