Geocache Description:

This is a quick park-n-grab in Carl D Bradley Park, named for a Great Lakes Freighter that sank 160 degrees S E and 23 miles off shore from this point.

(Image from Wikipedia)This was placed on Mother's Day 2017 by my 3 year old cacher and I. She loaded it up, so it includes a whole lot of dinosaurs and necklaces (there's also a surprise for the FTF). It's one of our favorite places to take walks and is also a great place for a picnic, to watch the sunset, or to watch the fireworks around the 4th of July. There is a great view of the Manistique East Breakwater Light as well. This should be an easy find, but we upped the difficulty because of the prevalence of muggles!

"The SS Carl D. Bradley was a self-unloading Great Lakes freighter that sank in a Lake Michigan storm on November 18, 1958. Of the 35 crew members, 33 died in the sinking and 23 were from the port town of Rogers City, Michigan. Her sinking was likely caused by structural failure from the brittle steel used in her construction. She was the sister of the ill-fated SS Cedarville.

Built in 1927 by the American Ship Building Company in Lorain, Ohio, the Bradley was owned by the Michigan Limestone division of U.S. Steel, and operated by the Bradley Transportation Line. She retained the title of "Queen of the Lakes" for 22 years as the longest and largest freighter on the Great Lakes." (Image and information from Wikipedia)
