Bouldercaching #2
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. While it can be done without any equipment whatsoever, most climbers use climbing shoes to help secure footholds, chalk to keep their hands dry, and bouldering mats to prevent injuries from falls. Bouldering problems (the path that a climber takes in order to complete the climb) are usually less than 6 meters (20 ft.) tall.
The boulder mecca of the world in Fontainebleau, south of Paris. The forests of Fontainebleau are filled with stones that need to be climbed.
In the Ardennes you can find some small spots where you can practice bouldering. Some on rock, some in climbing centers and some on walls like these. Get a try and get hooked on!
Even though the cache is in reach, be careful with climbing. Have someone with you in case you slip and fall.
p.s. Read above, bouldering is without the use of materials, especially ladders; - )
