UV Light Required

The Hills
In 1966 the Dishman Hills Conservancy was founded to protect portions of land from the rapidly developing city. Over 2500 acres of land have been set aside to keep Spokane "Near Nature, Near Perfect," as demonstrated in the 1st annual Spokane Geotour.

The Conservancy has the goal to someday connect the areas they have already acquired into one giant land conservation area. You can see their intended future areas on their website.

Welcome to the Glenrose Unit of the Dishman Hills Conservancy. This 160 acre portion of Dishman Hills was officially added to the Conservancy in 2016, and offers some fantastic trails and views of Spokane.


The Cache
This Night Cache will take you up the hill and across the skyline to view Spokane by night. You will be able to see for miles from nearby ground zero.
To find the container -- from parking proceed up the trail. You should easily be able to spot Fire tacks along the trail.

When you get to the end of the fire tacks (please note they are multiple colors, it is all one trail), unscramble the UV puzzle, replace the last 3 digits in your North and West coordinates with the numbers you find, and proceed to the final (within 0.1 of the UV puzzle). You will be solving for:

Remember to bring your Flashlight, a UV Flashlight, and a buddy. Dishman Hills is home to several animals - from marmots to moose, coyotes and cougars. Please hike safely!

To return to your car walk up hill until you find a major path, turn Right and it will bring you back down the hill.
