South Alouette River
This geocache is easily accessible and includes a scenic walk from Maple Ridge Park along the South Alouette River.

The recommended parking is the parking area at Maple Ridge Park, off Fern Crescent, and additional parking is available off 232nd Street as well. From here, it's a relatively easy walk to the geocache.
The South Alouette River has long been a favourite hangout for Maple Ridge residents. It's calm and pastoral downstream, but around here, it's a shallow babbling creek in the summer months where you can often find people floating downstream on tubes or air mattresses.
But don't be fooled: during the rainy months, it can be a treacherous fast-flowing river that you'd best stay out of - if only for the large populations of Pink and Chum salmon that come here to spawn and die.
The North Alouette River, meanwhile, is just a few dozen meters north of Maple Ridge Park, but the two river arms don't meet yet for another six kilometers or so, near McNeil Rd in Pitt Meadows.
