Whitchurch has a rich history and many of the houses are centuries old and include stone that was part of a castle that stood in Whitchurch until it was destroyed by Oliver Cromwell (presumably not personally).
One of the highlights of the outside of the Church is the giant sundial.
Inside are some very old graves including that of Sir Edward Smythe who died in 1682. Latin scholars will enjoy translating the text on the stone (North Aisle of the Chancel).
