Geocache Description:

Where am I? (One or more of these rhymes is right on the money!)

Up a Tree you will find me!

Down a hole just like a mole.

In the grass, you will pass.

In the dirt, dont get hurt.

Under the sun, you better run.

In the wet, under a net.

So Much to Do and See at SOCC

In honour of Canada 150 we are celebrating sites within Oshawa that serve the community and foster togetherness. Take part in our Geocache hunt at the South Oshawa Community Centre.

Here are 5 things about South Oshawa Community Centre.

  1. Officially opened in 2007.
  2. We have 2 pools and water slide.
  3. We are attached to GL Roberts CVI secondary school.
  4. We have a youth room that has pool and ping pong tables and arcade games.
  5. We have a fully functional teaching kitchen.
As part of Canada 150 celebrations in 2017, community organizations such as The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, LivingRoom Community Art Studio, the Ontario Regiment Museum and City of Oshawa Recreation Centres and Parks Department (Legends Centre. Northview Community Centre, South Oshawa Community Centre, Donevan Recreation Complex, Civic Recreation Complex, Arts Resource Centre) have collaborated to create a geocaching adventure. Each cache tells a unique story about Oshawa's history and heritage. This initiative encourages residents to explore Oshawa’s parks, trails and various community sites to learn more about significant events in Canada’s and Oshawa’s history.
