Geocache Description:

Welcome to WilderGuy’s Ride Along the Rainy Series!

This series is designed to help you make the most of your journey as you travel along the winding river that is the dividing border between two great countries, the United States and Canada. Take a second to step out in each of these locations and just take in the sheer beauty that the river provides. Each stop with something different to feast your eyes on. Be on the lookout for the wildlife that call this area home, who knows you may see some bald eagles, common loons, and deer… it’s hard to drive this stretch and not see deer… but if you’re lucky enough you might even see a black bear. Don’t worry, it is probably more afraid of you than you should be of it (still keep your distance though!). With all that said, enjoy the scenic drive along the Rainy River.

The cache is located right off Highway 11 in near a boat landing. This beautiful stretch of road follows not only the Rainy River but the Canadian Border as well. The drive can be best appreciated in the fall, but still has beauty shining through it year round. So take a second and enjoy the fresh air. Stop here and see if you can't see some prehistoric sturgeon surfacing in the Rainy, take a cast off the dock and try your luck fishing, or the many varieties of birds that have the privilege to call this area home. Make sure to bring your own writing utensil!
