Geocache Description:

The Concert Series

Jann Arden

Can't even tell you how many times I have seen her.  Basically every two or three years since the release of her second (and my most favorite) album "Living Under June" in 1995.  I even saw her perform with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra.

I know more about her than any other artist just by the way she interacts with the audience during a show. June was her landlord and Jann lived in the basement suite.

I remember one performance in particular. The band begins an extended intro to "I Would Die For You" and the lights go out on cue.  We thought it was part of the show but the power had gone out in downtown Saskatoon.  She shows up with a flashlight and starts to explain that they need to get the generators started.

She jokes around for a while and says she only knows one acapella song and begins to sing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". After a few lines she stops and says "What am I thinking, you probably want to get a drink than hear me sing that!"

She is open and honest.  And she is very funny.

“I hate red carpets. You now have these idiots saying, ‘Who are you wearing?’ And I’m like, ‘Winners … and I have a bra from Wal-Mart.’”

Arden has received a total of 19 Juno Award nominations to date. She has won eight of them, including Songwriter of the Year in 1995 and 2002, and Female Artist of the Year in 1995 and 2001.

She has 17 top ten singles from eight albums.
