Geocache Description:

This cache is a easy grab-and-go, large size to hold goodies and trackables.   If you have the time ..... the path walk is worth it.   Lots of information boards along the way.

Algonac Muskrats reside not only in Algonac High School (Algonac's Fighting Muskrats), but in St Johns Marsh.   Named for their musky smell and ratlike appearance, you are likely to see one on the drive around the marsh or on the trail to the right.   Muskrats grow to 16-25" long and weigh 2-5 pounds.   They eat aquatic vegetation and can hold their breath for up to 20 minutes.   They construct lodges that you can see along the marsh, and swim with webbed back feet and a flat tail.

Enjoy the walk, you may also see ducks, swan, geese, and deer along the way......keep your eyes open.   Enjoy!   :)
