Geocache Description:

A cache which fills the gap between a few others and brings you an interesting spot.

This is not in or close to the culvert but you will see if from the location of the cache and I though you might like it.

Please note that this might be a location for roosting bats (probably not though) and you should be aware that they are protected and if you see them do not disturb them.

A culvert is a tunnel that allows water to flow under a road, railroad, trail, or similar obstruction from one side to the other side.

They are typically embedded so as to be surrounded by soil, a culvert may be made from a pipereinforced concrete or other material.

In England the word can also be used for a longer artificially buried watercourse.

A structure that carries water above land is known as an aqueduct.

This culvert passes under the Leeds to Liverpool canal at this point and though it is dry now, it still flows in wet weather and the stream that used to flow though this culvert can still be found a few yards further away from the canal where it spring up.
