Approximately 25 kilometers west of Port Augusta is a significant rest stop used by trucks and caravaners who quite often free camp here on the way to Western Australia.
For those who are in no hurry to get to WA (generally the grey nomads) continue down the Lincoln Highway (National Highway 1) via Port Lincoln and follow the coast line to Perth. The truckies mainly turnoff 500 metres from the rest stop travelling down the Eyre Highway making a bee line to Perth.
