Bears are omnivorous mammals and there are 8 different species alive on Earth today. They have large bodies, four feet with claws, long snouts and small ears. Their diets vary, Giant Pandas feed almost exclusively on bamboo and Polar Bears feed on other animals, but most will vary their diet depending on what is available to them. The biggest modern threat to bears is humans who have impacted on their numbers by hunting them and encroaching on their habitats.
