Geocache Description:

Find the middle of the middles and you'll have the cache... (or will you ???)

You might want to bring a pen, paper, a calculator and your walking boots.

Start by finding the big green box near the small green box near the big green cylinder. Record this as your Point A. Record all points from now on, and at each point leave no stone unturned.

Project 100m west and check top dead centre. This is your Point B.

Now find TDC at the other end for Point C.
Hint: Lbh pna svaq Serqqb'f TP728S Ghaary bs Ybir arneol.

From Point C project 550m south to get to Point D.

Carry on to Point E and onwards again to Point F.
There are fairly obvious signs of the location of F when you are at E. If not you're not sure then 'gel cebwrpgvat 185z abegu rnfg'.
*** PLEASE USE CAUTION ! *** around F, especially if you have kids with you.

Well Done if you've made it this far.

Now you've collected the coords for Points A through to F you have all you need to figure out the final coords.
Remember way back to the first line ???
Work out the answer
Add two hundredths of a minute South
and go straight there ...
OR
check your sums, it's upto you !!!

To continue walking and confirm your first set of sums you can find check coords:

(NOTE: The last cacher to choose this option was not able to find any of them. So maybe just rely on your maths skills.)

  • at a concrete fence post the middle between D and E (Point G).
  • at the middle of A and F, inside the V of a stump (Point H).
  • at the middle between B and C, inside a stump, inside a Y (Point I).

Now armed with G, H, and I which are the middles for each of the trio. You're almost there ...

Now head for the Middle of the Middles.
Remembering to add two hundredths of a minute South to your final answer.

Notes:

  • Feel free to take your own readings but because of the variance in coords due to the rock surfaces around the tdc's my provided coords are recommended.
  • How many people know about doing waypoint projections with their GPS ? It may pay to read up your GPS manual.
(all projections based on using an eTrex.
When tested with a GPSIII there was upto 25% variation ???)
