Geocache Description:

Derwent Valley Wander

A river and woodland circular wander from Shotley Bridge up river to Allensford and back again, the paths are generally good walking if a bit up and down but in wet weather will be muddy in places. Some sections are very close to the river and it would be advisable not to attempt during times of flood. There is a footbridge close to either waypoint parking spot, cross over and make your way to the cache furthest down river to start, any directions given will be from here.

Having done a few tree climb geocaches though enjoyable I was always dissapointed they weren't more of a challenge, well this one could be for some. approach the tree from the path and look up about 12-13 feet, the hard bit will be getting started so if you're with a friend you can get a bunk up then the rest should be easy. I placed this cache alone and unaided so it is doable.I don't mind if just one person gets there and signs for the group or passes the log down for others to sign.
