On a blustery May Day, Bernie was making his rounds on the Upper Huffman trails. He stopped to wipe some mud off his paws when he looked up and saw a friendly face.
"Well, aren't you a fluffy one?" Bernie commented "you look a little rounder than most squirrels in this part of Alaska."
"That's because I eat so many lingonberries." The animal replied.
"I love berries too!" Enthused Bernie. "I can't wait for berry season...my favorite time of year!"
Bernie hopes you will come visit his little friend, maybe on your way to hunt berries or even on a winter excursion.
