Geocache Description:

A series of caches of varying types and sizes running along the Tardebigge flight of Locks. This flight has the dubious honour of being the longest flight in the UK (and technically the world).

This cache is located at lock 46.

Cache is on the far side of the canal from the tow path near to the bottom gates

Care must always be taken around canals, the banks can be very dangerous especially in wet or icy conditions and the water can be very deep with unusual undercurrents. Do NOT allow children to search unattended, for their safety.

To claim this cache, you only need to sign the log (as always), but as this approximately half way along the locks, it'd be nice if you could do some extra things to be able to log this find. I would also like you to either attach to your on-line log or send to me directly 5 photos of yourself and a canal boat going through Tardebigge Locks, this isn't essential, but it would make the trip more interesting for you. This doesn't have to be your own boat/a hire boat you're on, although I'd recommend getting the owners permission if not yours or you're not the hirer of the boat.

Yes, technically, you could post 5 photos of your boat in random locations, you could post photos from a few years back, how would I know? Please, in the spirit of the game, post photos done on this trip through the locks. Up hill or down hill of here, it doesn't matter. Going in the lock, coming out the lock. rising in the lock or waiting to go in a lock, use your imagination.

Yes, they can be 5 different boats (assuming you're not using one yourself to travel through), but please have the photos at different locks in the flight.

Please replace cache exactly as found.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, the journey or location, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or "copy and paste" logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.

TravelBug Etiquette: Cachers pay good money for TravelBugs and Geocoins. Please if you take a TB or GC from a cache will you ensure it is correctly logged in and out, also If you take one that still shows somewhere else please be patient before “grabbing” the item, it does not get its mileage by being grabbed and the last person to place may not have had time to log a previous find on the one you took it from. This is particularly important on busy and new caches. If you have an issue with a bug please e-mail the owner through their profile and advise them of the issue. They will be pleased to hear from you.
