This year after the Advanced Placement Calculus test, my seniors studied a unit on cryptology, ciphers, and puzzle solving. Students researched the history of different ciphers, encrypted and decrypted by pencil/paper and the internet. Of course solving geocache puzzle caches was the final project of the unit. The culminating activity was to hide a geocache as a class and develop a puzzle for the whole world to solve. So here is what AP Calculus Period 1 of the graduating class of 2017 created for their puzzle:
One aspect of many cultures is that of dance. Many different geographical regions and ethnic groups are known for certain types of dances. For example the polka usually is associated with Eastern Europe and its heritage. The tango was originally a South American dance that mimics the hot and steamy climate from where it came. Ballet is typically thought of as a French dance, even though there are strong Russian influences there as well. The jig was first danced in England, but became popular in Scotland and Ireland soon after. Even the Americas have had many dances as part of the culture – from swing dancing to square dancing to hip-hop. Believe it or not there is even a math dance:
NORTH - Consists of two levels with the second having a keyword
WEST - Again two levels. Think MC Hammer dance move or Arnold Schwarzenegger movie for last step.
