Walking back from the Hemlock knob, Bernie stopped to admire the lovely view. Out of the corner of his blue eyes he spied another potential friend. Given the creature's appearance, he knew he should be wary .... But Bernie is an Australian Shepherd, therefore afraid of nothing (often to his detriment).
"Is that your egg?" Bernie asked .
"Don't be ridiculous, it's a blueberry!" the creature hissed in response. "I found it up on Blueberry Hill... I'm taking it home so I can grill it."
"Grilled blueberry??? I've never had that before. But I like blueberry jam, blueberry smoothies, blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, blueberry pie, blueberry cobbler.... I'd probably like grilled blueberry too."
Bernie thought it best not to invite himself to the cookout, so he continued on down the trail.
Bernie hopes you will come visit his scary friend, maybe on your way to hunt berries or even on a winter excursion.
