UPDATE: Cache replaced on 4/16/2006! A New cache is in the place of the old one. Now its time for everyone to get out there and watch nature raise itself from the ashes. UPDATE: Cache lost to fire on 3/27/05 pending replacement. This cache is in the nature forest portion of Wickham Park in Melbourne Florida.
UPDATE (3/31/2005): This cache was recently destroyed by the devestating fire on 3/27/2005. This is proof although Rubbermaid containers can stand up to most elements, fire is not one of them. The fire consumed about 70 acres of the park. The park will grow back and so too shall this cache live again. A new cache is being created and will be deployed as soon as possible. Thank you to all who have been out to the cache to see if it survived the fire. I will post another update when it has been replaced. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: The cache is called MONKEY MADNESS. Mostly because it is filled with all manner of things. There is a log book in the cache, don't forget to sign! Remember to bring something else to swap with the contents of this cache. This is a mild hike through the trails of Wickham Park. The trail will take you through what appears to be a burned forest of pines and palms. Many of the trees are charred and blackened (at the time of hiding). Watch out for rattle snakes for they like this is type of environment, it is their habitat (I actually have not seen any, ever)!
Anyone who is not severely handicapped should be able to find this cache... make sure you look around, it might be concealed by some plant growth. This is our first cache we have hidden. This is the first cache planted in Melbourne that could be accessed without a boat. Happy hunting!
