Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series that brings cachers to some random historical locations that are hidden amongst the urban sprawl that is the Greater Toronto area. Often, these historic buildings get surrounded by new developments, apartments and office towers - people forget they are even there. Then one day you are driving along and BANG you find a random historical building in the middle of 1960's apartments or post-war bungalows. Enjoy some of these hidden gems.

This location is a total surprise for most people - this beautiful Georgian home is situated smack dab in the middle of some new development including townhouses and a smaller condo building. Some accounts state the home was built in the 1830's, some as late as the fall of 1840 and it is a prime example of Georgian Revival architecture. The house was expanded and repaired after a fire in the 1880's when the second floor was raised. But by 1995 (when the farm and milk production plant that were located on the land were closed and sold) the house was practically falling apart. In 2010 it was restored and designated as part of condo build project. The cache is a nano so bring your own pen. There are several homes within view of the cache so please use stealth and make sure you talk the walk over to see the house where this cache was originally placed.
