Geocache Description:

A cache along the reservoir #1 route towards the 7 pines track.

GPS can be quite unstable in the forest so to avoid any misadventures it will be helpful to know this cache can be reached without leaving the track. The coordinates were averaged over quite a long time on different days but this doesn't really help when you're searching. It's a straightforward hide in a reasonably obvious place. The hint should narrow it down should you need it. Please take care when re-hiding the cache so that it's not plainly visible.

It used to be an easy walk to get here from Spicer Park but in the 2015 downpour the bridge between there and here was destroyed. If you're careful it's possible to cross the stream (assuming it's not in flood of course) at a narrow point. Alternatively you can take the long way around via reservoir #2 and the 7 pines junction.

Note that dogs are not permitted in this area. Quoting from the PCC web site:

Dogs are permitted off lead, but only in the exotic trees. Dogs are not permitted on the route up to the reservoirs which travels through native bush on the adjoining DOC scenic reserve (Colonial Knob).

Note that there is a new "Track Closed" sign before this cache. I could not find a justifiable reason for the sign so am leaving this cache in place for now.
