Silvan Sanctuary Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hanoosh: As this cache has not been found for a while and it is evident the CO is no longer caching having not logged on for nearly three years, I am archiving it.

Geocache Description:

***Silently they moved through the forest, their steps absorbed by the leaf mulch beneath them. The greens and browns of their clothing rendering them almost invisible as they slowly worked their way onwards. Both held a strung bow in one hand while the other rested on the pommel of a sword nestled into their sides. They were obviously looking for something, eyes glancing here and there, occasionally down at the river below in the valley then upwards towards the tree covered slopes.
“Here, this is the perfect place” came the softly spoken comment. They both stopped and grinned at each other; one of the Rangers then slipped the pack off his back before taking a large container from within. Checking on its contents and scrawling some final comment onto some parchment, he checked it was sealed against the elements before sliding it into the chosen hiding place. The other Ranger waited patiently, acting as sentry to help preserve this special place. Gently placing some moss in front of it he backed off, checked that it was hidden regardless of who was looking for it before motioning to his companion that it was time to leave. Once again the Rangers of Ithilien melted back into the forest………***

We have hidden this cache in a place we consider to be one of the most beautiful places in Cornwall. The River Fowey meanders through this woodland, sometimes a peaceful stream, sometimes a tumbling, tumultuous waterfall! Parking can be found at N50°29.610/W004°29.990. The cache is located about a third of a mile into the falls. This is a place with plenty of tree cover however, as far as we could tell our GPS behaved itself pretty well. The photos will help! The terrain is a little varied, from purpose built pathways to hardpacked paths and then on to some small slopes with large boulders. Very young children may find it challenging. I would also advise wearing decent footwear!

(Please note: Although this cache isn't in our own local area, should any problems be experienced, we can maintain it usually within 48hours - Tiffany)
