Geocache Description:

Congrats to Bluedawg7 for FTF. Although efforts were made to keep the historical aspect of the bridge, the new railing does not look like old structure.  The average daily traffic on this bridge is 200.  Easy Park and Grab.  Good gravel parking spot just west of the bridge.  The cache is a magnetic.  .  

 

 

Branch Center Creek Old Route 66 Bridge

This bridge replaces a nearly century old structure on Historic Route 66.  This new Route 66 Bridge was opened in the Spring of 2017.  This Bridge was also part of the original Jefferson Highway (pre Route 66).  This bridge was originally built in 1922 and demolished in Sept 2016.  A plaque from the original bridge was saved and reinstalled onto the new bridge just below another plaque commemorating the new bridge.
