TopHat Challenge #3 Cache at Night (N. Otago) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Natalie247: This series is a bit out of the way (was here for the Oamaru Geofest in 2017) and decided that I need to focus my cache maintenance elsewhere. Did offer it up for adoption and no takers but that's fine because hopefully this means we will get more challenges placed here or elsewhere.

It was fitting that the sun was setting behind the mountains as travelled along the roads taking in the containers for the caches archived here. The containers are gone - please do not go here looking or putting any throw downs.

For those who have logged that they have signed the cache but yet to qualify they have rest of 2022 to qualify and then put new log found (reference the date signed as well as proof qualify). Any false logs will be deleted - all electronic and paper logs have been noted and will be double checked.

On 1 Jan 2023 the cache pages will be requested to be locked.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

I am sure most of us have on our caching adventures thought or been told you're "Mad as a hatter!"

I say lets celebrate this matter, you can identify many Mad Hatter's by the Top Hats they wear. So join the tea party and earn yourself your very own virtual one.

Cache is at the posted co-ordinates but you must comply with the rules to log this. (Any which do not risk being deleted).

Objective of the Challenge:

Find (or have already found) at least 5 night caches.

Geocaching doesn’t stop when the sun goes down, so if you haven't given it a go already get out there and give it a go :)

The Rules:

1. You must have qualified AND signed the physical container to claim this as a find.   If you wish to 'find' this cache but do not yet qualify, write a note on this page and convert it to a smiley when you later qualify.

2. All finds count, past, present and future. So some geocachers may already qualify to claim this cache.

3. Finds still count even if the cache subsequently gets archived.

4. Found logs that don't qualify will be deleted.

5. Qualifying finds of finders who don't sign the physical log book will also be deleted. I will check the log book periodically.

6. Optional Extra - In your log, tell us if there is a story to go with how you found these night caches.

7. A night cache is one where you have followed some tacks or lights. These are normally multi or mystry caches with the flashlight attribute switched on (this is how the checker works).
