Harry Truman was a talented piano player and a one time thought about a career in music but he decided on politics instead On June 28, 1919, Harry Truman married his sweetheart Elizabeth Virginia Wallace (Bess). They met at Sunday school when Harry was six years old, and began dating during High school. They had a daughter together in 1924 and called her Mary Margaret The Second World War was taking place during the presidency of Harry S Truman, and he made the authoritative decision to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan on August 6 and 9, 1945. This marked a victorious end of the World War II Harry Truman was know by more than one nickname. He loved to wear brightly colored shirts and bow-ties and once once voted one of the top ten best dressed congress men, for this reason he was given the nickname "Haberdasher Harry". He was considered well amongst the community and well known for his integrity, honesty, and efficiency. One of his most famous quote was "The buck stops here", and for this and his no-nonsense attitude he was given the nickname "Give ’Em Hell Harry" Harry S Truman said many famous quotes, including "You want a friend in Washington? Get a dog." And "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
