So, just what it a Wherigo cache? Well, according to Groundspeak;
Wherigo® Caches are GPS-enabled adventures in the real world. They use GPS technology to guide players to physical locations where they can interact with virtual or physical objects.
Wherigo Caches can have different designs that overlap with other cache types. If a cache uses a Wherigo cartridge, it is considered a Wherigo cache, regardless of whether it also has a Mystery or Multi-Cache element.
That all sounds simple enough, right? Well, maybe yes, maybe no. In the recent year or so several Wherigo caches have popped up in the area but don't seem to get much activity. And the found it logs on them seem to come mostly from out of towners. That got me to thinking that a lot of people must not be interested in searching them out, but why?
Well, my best guess is that people think there is a major hurdle to overcome in figuring out just how to go about playing a Wherigo cartridge. This event will take place from 9:30 am to 10:00 am and during that time I will talk about some basic tools and techniques to try to help overcome that hurdle, including just what a Wherigo is, how to download Wherigo cartridges and smatphone apps and other GPS devices that can be used to play the cartridges.
If you are an experienced Wherigo cacher feel free to attend this event anyway, your expertise will surely come in handy to all of the attendees looking for help.
