Geocache Description:

An Taisce

Coimeádán beag dubh é seo le logleabhar agus féirín beag ann. Tá fáilte romhat an féirín a bhabhtáil le féirín eile.
Nuair a théann tú síos, cas thart, ach ná tóg céim arais suas.

Tá radharc deas ón spota seo amach i dtreo Ros a Mhíl áit a dtéann an bád amach go hÁrainn. Ósclaíodh Oifig Fáilte 300m siar ón láthair seo an seachtain seo (29 Bealtaine 2017) agus tá café ann chomh maith. Bhí cónaí ar Bruce Ismay (Titanic) i dteach soir an bóthar (800m) atá i bhfolach i gcoill bheag. I ngan fhios dó is cosúil gur dtugadh roinnt de mhuintir an cheantair Brú Síos Mé air.

The Cache

This is a small black container with a logbook and a small item. You are welcome to take and replace the item.
When you descend the steps, turn around but don’t take a step back up.

There is a pleasant view from this spot out towards Ros a Mhíl the port from where the ferry goes out to Oileáin Árainn - the Aran Islands. A Tourist Information Office and café opened this week (29 May 2017) 300m west from here. If you wish to practice your Irish you can do so in the café!  "Cupán caifé más é do thoil é"  A cup of coffee please - Cupawn café moss ay doh hellay!
Bruce Ismay (Titanic) lived in a lodge 800m east from here hidden in a small wood. Unbeknownst to him Bruce Ismay was called "Brú Síos Me" by some people in the area. "Brú síos mé" means: Push me down - referring to his pushing down into a lifeboat to escape death on the sinking Titanic.
