LETTERBOXING
Letterboxing is an intriguing pastime combining artistic ability with delightful "treasure-hunts" in beautiful, scenic places that the whole family can enjoy. Participants seek out hidden letterboxes by following clues, and then record their discovery in their personal journal with the help of a rubber stamp that's part of the letterbox. In addition, letterboxers have their own personal stamps which they use to stamp into the letterbox's logbook.
The origin of letterboxing can be traced to Dartmoor, Devon, England in 1854. William Crossing in his Guide to Dartmoor states that a well known Dartmoor guide James Perrott placed a bottle for visiting cards at Cranmere Pool on the northern moor in 1854. From this hikers on the moors began to leave a letter or postcard inside a box along the trail (sometimes addressed to themselves, sometimes a friend or relative)—hence the name "letterboxing". The next person to discover the site would collect the postcards and post them. In 1938 a plaque and letterbox in Crossing's memory were placed at Duck's Pool on southern Dartmoor
Fortunately you don't have to go the moors of Dartmoor or Duck's Pool, but in keeping with tradition I did try for something along these lines. Enjoy and have fun. Pictures would be great too :)
Use your GPS to navigate to the given coordinates.
Here you will be looking for an additional set of coordinates, a bearing and a distance in metres.
These coordinates will take you to a place where once a crooked man found a crooked six-pence.
Please be respectful of other land users and only use this structure as this is what it was put here for, do not climb on the fence.
Once you reach these coordinates head toward the given bearing for the distance indicated.

You are unlikely to be seen by muggles but if a game is on or a nosey local spots you you could have some explaining as to just what you're doing in the middle of nowhere.
Having said that the entire Recreation Reserve Committee was present when I placed this cache at 8pm on a Wednesday night.
The area of Tynong Recreation Reserve where the cache is located is owned by the department of ever changing names (DELWP at the time of placement) and leased by Cardinia Shire Council but is basically unused other than for ball retrieval when kicked too far from the oval. As such local farmers graze their cattle here from time to time so don't be surprised to see a bunch of nosey cows sniffing about as you make your way to the cache.
