Geocache Description:

Zanimiva partizanska bolnica ob avtocesti.

Interesting partisan military hospital near highway.

SLO:

ENG:

If you drive on the highway in the direction from Maribor towards Ljubljana, you can stop for a moment on the restplace Zima and stretch your legs a bit. Surely there is nothing better than finding a geocache along with it, especially on some very interesting spot :) Only two minutes of walking from the suggested parking place will lead you to partisan hospital Zima that belonged to the Medical Department of the 4th Operational Zone between Celje, Poljčane, Konjice and Vojnik. The need for it became evident in the summer of 1944. The building work was carried out by local activists who found the location for the hospital in Šohta forest. The site was provided with water and there was a possibility of camouflaging access traces during winter months. The first woundedfighters were admitted in the summer of 1944. Dr. Gabrijel Hrušovar - Drago was the attending physician. The hospital was betrayed to the enemy in February 1945, but the wounded had already beed moved to a safe place in time, so the occupiers found only an empty bunker.Since 1958, the hospital has been opened to the public.
