In 1923 the City Council of the City Lubbock, Texas, passed Ordinance 225, Section 1 of which declared, "No negro or persons of African descent or containing as much as one-eighth negro blood shall own property or reside thereon in any part of this city except that part lying South of 16th St. and East of Avenue C." The city officially repealed the ordinance in 2006. This cache is near where 16th St. and Avenue C was located before the construction of US 87/I-27. This cache is higher than 6 feet.
